This is the block that renders the body of the post into your template. It has one setting that matters more than all the others.
By default it shows the excerpt, not the full content — which is the single most common surprise when a custom template goes live looking truncated.

Before You Start
- Edition: Free. Measured with Nexter Blocks Pro deactivated, this block renders byte-for-byte the same output.
- Block to enable: Post Content, switched on under Nexter > Blocks in your WordPress dashboard.
- A single post template to build in. These blocks belong in a template that renders one post, not on a standalone page.
- At least one published post to preview the template against.
Steps
- Add the Post Content block to your single post template.
- Switch the content type to post content if you want the full body, then preview.
Check this setting before you publish a template. A site that shows two sentences where the article should be is almost always this block left on its default.
How It Behaves
- Build this inside a single post template. The block reads whichever post the page is showing — it has no setting for picking one. In a Blog Builder template that is the post being viewed, which is exactly what you want.
- The default is the excerpt. Measured on a real post: the default rendered 224 bytes — the excerpt alone — while the full content setting rendered 759 bytes.
- Full content renders the post body as written, including its own blocks and formatting.
- Length can be limited by words or characters. Measured at five words: A baseline grid is the…
- Posts with no excerpt fall back to WordPress’s automatic one, generated from the opening of the body.
- On an ordinary page it shows that page’s data, not nothing. Measured: a Post Title block dropped onto a normal page rendered the page’s own title. The block does not check that it is on a post, so a mistake here shows the wrong thing rather than an error.
- With no post to read, it renders an empty shell rather than disappearing. Measured outside any post: the markup is still there with nothing inside it. If you are seeing an unexplained gap in a template, this is usually why.
Limitations
- The excerpt default catches people out. It is the right default for a listing and the wrong one for a single post template.
- A length limit on full content will cut mid-block, which can leave formatting looking broken.
- Automatic excerpts are just the first words of the post, so they often end mid-sentence.
- Styling the body is limited. The post’s own blocks bring their own styles, and this block wraps rather than restyles them.
- It renders an empty container with no post in context, not nothing.
Troubleshooting
Only a sentence or two of my post is showing
The content type is set to excerpt, which is the default. Switch it to post content. This is the most common issue with this block by a wide margin.
The excerpt ends mid-sentence
No excerpt is written on the post, so WordPress generated one from the opening. Write an excerpt on the post itself.
The full content is being truncated
A length limit is set. Clear it.
The content is empty
There is no post in context. Move the block into a single post template.
