If you have ever put off switching SEO plugins because of what you would lose on the way, September is the update to read. Nexter SEO can now import your titles, descriptions, canonicals, social fields, schema and redirects from Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SureRank, and it shows you every change before it writes anything.
Form Builder grew up this month too. Multi-step forms with a progress indicator arrived in Nexter Blocks Pro, and conditional logic landed in both Free and Pro. Nexter blocks also work in block widget areas now. Here is everything that shipped in September, plus what the public roadmap says is next.
🎉 What’s New

- Move Your SEO Data From Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO Or SureRank (Nexter Extension 4.7.10): a new Migrate From Other SEO Plugins tab detects your existing data, previews exactly what would change, then imports it in resumable batches. Titles, descriptions, canonicals, social fields, per-page schema type and redirects come across, including Yoast’s Organization name and logo and Rank Math’s custom robots.txt rules. Anything you already set in Nexter SEO is kept, and the other plugin’s data is never deleted.
- Regex Redirects And Cleaner URLs (Nexter Extension 4.7.10): redirections now support a Regex match type with
$1backreferences in the destination. Separate toggles under Advanced shorten/product/,/product-category/and/product-tag/URLs, the old URLs redirect, and a new setting strips the/category/base from category URLs. - Multi-Step Forms In Nexter Blocks Pro (5.0.5): break a long form into short steps with a progress indicator across the top, in six styles: Check, Timeline, Tabs, Icon Tiles, Chevron and Progress Pill. Completed, current and upcoming steps each take your own colours.
- Conditional Logic In Form Builder (Free 5.0.6, Pro 5.0.5): any field can watch another field and show or hide itself based on the answer. Six operators (is, is not, contains, doesn’t contain, is empty, is not empty) work across 12 field types, set from the block sidebar with no code.
- Nexter Blocks In Block Widget Areas (5.0.7): drop Nexter blocks into Appearance, then Widgets. Blocks placed there have no parent post, so a dedicated handler now generates and caches their CSS.
- AI-Written Snippets That Actually Run, And A Clearer llms.txt (Nexter Extension 4.7.9 and 4.7.10): snippets created by the Code Snippets AI assistant had been saved with a placement name the runtime did not recognise, so they never executed. They run now. Each llms.txt number setting also explains what it does, with a warning that any Freshness Window above 0 leaves older content out.
Before You Switch SEO Plugins: What The Import Does And Does Not Do
The preview is the point of this feature, so read it before you start. It recommends a backup and says plainly that the import writes to your database and cannot be undone from that screen. It also lists what Nexter will leave alone: values you already set, per-author SEO settings (Nexter has no field for them), and the per-post-type and per-taxonomy title templates that Yoast or Rank Math keep, because Nexter uses one template pair for posts and one for archives. On a Polylang or WPML site the per-language settings are flattened, and the preview says so.
Imports run in batches, retry a batch that hits a temporary error, and finish with a check of the imported values. Importing categories and tags from Yoast is also much faster on large sites, because each batch now asks only about the terms it is about to take.
Also Shipped This Month
- Image Optimization On Large Libraries (Extension 4.7.9): single and bulk optimisation no longer fail with a server error on big media libraries, because the work is now split into small batches, and the bulk screen shows real counts.
- SEO Screens Fully Translated (Extension 4.7.9): roughly half of their strings sat in bundle files that WordPress was never told to load a translation file for, so they stayed English in every language. That is fixed.
- Safer Snippet Imports (Extension 4.7.9): importing a snippet that already exists is blocked instead of creating a second copy, since two copies of a snippet that declares a PHP function crashed every page.
- WooCommerce 11.1 Support In Blocks Pro (5.0.5 and 5.0.7): Single Product Image gains Product Gallery Video, Add to Cart hides the duplicate gallery that WooCommerce 11.1 injects into the variations form, and Post Listing Search List now supports category, tag and pagination options, and Product Listing Search List supports product category and tag options.
- Fixes Across Forms And Search (Blocks Pro 5.0.7 and Blocks Free 5.0.7): in Pro, the editor no longer crashes on a form with an old saved action value, a required checkbox no longer complains when it is already ticked, and the multi-step progress bar stays on one row on mobile. In Free, Search Bar keeps title-match ranking when Generic Filter or ACF search is on.
- Nexter Extension Pro 4.7.7: the Code Snippets display-condition post search no longer skips or repeats posts while paging through results, and Settings Import messages now use the Pro plugin’s own text domain so they can be translated.
