Are you looking to show the parent page or category link in your WordPress breadcrumb? A parent breadcrumb link helps visitors navigate back to a higher-level page without using the browser back button.
The Breadcrumbs block in Nexter Blocks includes a Parent visibility toggle that adds the parent page link to your breadcrumb trail in the WordPress block editor.
Best Used For:
- Hierarchical sites with deep page structures, such as category > subcategory > product pages
- Knowledge bases and documentation sites where users need to navigate back to parent categories
- WooCommerce stores where product pages sit under multiple category levels

Requirement: This block is part of Nexter Blocks. Make sure Nexter Blocks is installed and activated.
Add the Breadcrumbs block to the template and follow the steps below.
Note: To create the header template, you can use the free Nexter Builder.
1. Select a style from the Style section under the Breadcrumbs Bar tab. The style controls the visual separator between breadcrumb levels, such as arrows or slashes.
2. Go to the Visibility tab and turn on the Parent toggle. This adds the parent page or parent category link to the breadcrumb trail. To create a header template that displays breadcrumbs across your site, see How to Create a Header Template in WordPress.

The parent page link now appears in the breadcrumb bar.
