- Gutenberg 21.7 adds an expanded Command Palette, a new Terms Query Block, and experimental features like “contentOnly” patterns and block commenting. It also improves performance and design tools to streamline workflows and enhance editing efficiency.
- WordPress 6.8.3 is a security release addressing two vulnerabilities, including data exposure and XSS issues in navigation menus. The update enhances overall site security. Automatic updates are rolling out to supported sites.
- The WordPress 6.9 release cycle is moving ahead without dedicated documentation leads, continuing the approach used in version 6.8. This has sparked concern among contributors who say it downplays the importance of proper documentation. A temporary “Docs Liaison” role has been added, but many are calling for the full documentation lead position to return.
- The “State of SEO 2026” report finds original content remains key to SEO success, even as AI use rises. It identifies three main strategies: AI adopters, authority builders, and hybrid strategists. Despite AI concerns, most organizations plan to maintain or grow SEO budgets in 2026.
- Google confirmed the August 2025 spam update is complete, running from August 26 to September 22. Initial data shows it penalized spammy sites but caused minimal broad re-ranking across search results.
- Google has removed the &num=100 parameter, stopping 100-results-per-page views. This change affects SEO tools and may explain inflated desktop impressions, though Google hasn’t commented.
- Google’s John Mueller clarified that keyword cannibalization isn’t always harmful, as multiple pages can rank for the same query. He advised focusing on reducing unnecessary duplication. Prioritizing clear structure and quality content is more important than consolidation.
- Google warns that login pages can hurt SEO by creating duplicate content. It recommends using noindex tags, redirects, or paywall markup to prevent indexing. These steps help protect a site’s search performance.

I think that in the coming months, there will be a lot of talk about Nexter Extension.
This is what FSE in WordPress should have been. Where it sets itself apart from traditional FSE is that it works on CPTs and all their related content.
As for the theme, it’s super-optimized and very lightweight, with just what’s necessary to be used with the plugin
Thank you very much for this great plugin, and I encourage the entire POSIMYTH team.
