How to Limit WordPress Search by a Taxonomy Term?

Do you want to limit WordPress search by a taxonomy term? By default, WordPress search looks into every part of the website but there may be instances where you want to limit the search to specific taxonomy terms only.

With the Search Bar block from the Nexter Blocks, you can easily limit the search to specific taxonomy terms.

Requirement  – This block is a part of the Nexter Blocks, make sure it’s installed & activated to enjoy all its powers.

To do this, add the Search Bar block on the page or template and follow the steps –

1. Go to the Query tab and select a taxonomy from the Taxonomies dropdown.

2. Then from the Include Terms dropdown you can select specific terms.

Now the search will be limited to those terms only.

Similarly, you can exclude terms from the search by selecting terms from the Exclude Terms dropdown.
