What It Does
The Accordion block’s Accordion Type setting has an On Hover option that opens an item as soon as a visitor’s cursor moves over its title, with no click needed.
Why It Matters
Clicking through every item in an accordion to see what is inside adds friction, especially on FAQ or feature-comparison pages visitors are scanning quickly. Hover mode lets them preview content just by moving the cursor across the titles.

How It Works
In the Accordion block settings, under Extra Option, the Accordion Type dropdown controls how items open. Set it to On Hover and every item in that block opens when the cursor moves over its title, instead of waiting for a click. This applies to the whole block at once, individual items cannot mix hover and click behavior within the same accordion.
How to Use It
Before you start: this setting is part of the Nexter Blocks Accordion block, so Nexter Blocks needs to be installed and activated.
- Add the Accordion block to your page.
- Go to Extra Option > Accordion Type.
- From the dropdown, select On Hover.
- Publish or preview the page and move your cursor over an item’s title to confirm it opens without clicking.

Limitations
- The setting applies to the whole Accordion block. You cannot have some items open on hover and others on click within the same block.
- Touch devices such as phones and tablets do not have a true hover state, so the interaction can behave differently there than on a desktop with a mouse.
- This only works with the Nexter Blocks Accordion block. The Tabs block has its own separate on-hover setup.
Troubleshooting
- The accordion does not respond at all on iPad or other tablets, hover or otherwise. This has been reported before on a block-theme site running Nexter Blocks, even though the same page worked fine on desktop and phone. If you hit this, confirm you are on the latest Nexter Blocks version, then contact support with your device and browser details.
- On a phone or tablet, items do not open until they are tapped, not just touched near. This is expected. Touch screens do not have a real hover state, so on-hover accordions typically need a tap on those devices even though they open on mouse hover on desktop.
- More than one item looks open at the same time. This is expected in hover mode: each item opens independently as the cursor passes over it, and items do not automatically close when you hover a different one, unlike some click-based accordions.
