# How to Create a Flip Box Carousel in WordPress?

## Key Takeaways

- Nexter Blocks Flipbox block creates a flip box carousel in WordPress by selecting Carousel from the Select Layout section.
- Flip Box section starts with two items by default, and the + Add Box button adds more flip boxes.
- Button toggle controls button options, while Box Height, Main Title, Icon Type, Back Description, Button Text, and Button Link set the flip box content and layout.

More flip cards than fit one row don't need to wrap onto a second row — a carousel keeps them in a single, swipeable strip.

Choosing Carousel in the Flipbox block's Select Layout switches every card into a Splide-powered slider with its own repeater, one entry per card.

*For every Flipbox setting in one place, see the [Flipbox feature guide](https://nexterwp.com/docs/add-a-flip-box-in-wordpress/).*

## Before You Start

- **Edition:** Freemium — Grid/Carousel layouts, Horizontal/Vertical flip, and Icon/Image/SVG front content all work in the free Nexter Blocks. Pause On Hover and Center Mode in the carousel need Nexter Blocks Pro.- **Block to enable:** Flipbox, switched on under **Nexter > Blocks** in your WordPress dashboard.

## Steps

- Add the Flipbox block and select **Carousel** from Select Layout.

- Pick a Flip Type, then set a Box Height if the cards should share one height.

- Open the **Flip Box** repeater and fill in each card's title, icon/image/SVG content and back description.

- Click **+ Add Box** to add more cards; each one gets its own front/back content and, if enabled, its own button link.

> *Each card in the repeater carries its own icon, description and button link — measured with a 5-card set, every card's own content rendered on its own slide, not a single shared template.*

## How It Behaves

- The carousel renders as a Splide slider — measured with 5 cards, all 5 rendered as separate slides.- Arrows and dots appear only when their respective toggles are on — measured, arrows visible only with Show Arrow enabled.- Autoplay, Draggable, Infinite Mode and the navigation options (wheel, keyboard) apply to the whole carousel, not per card.- Pause On Hover and Center Mode are Pro-only; the carousel still works as a slider without them.

## Limitations

- Carousel columns, gap and speed are set once for the whole slider, not per card.- Show Dots and Show Arrow are Freemium; Pause On Hover and Center Mode need Pro.- Front and back content that differ a lot in length can make the box resize when it flips, shifting whatever sits below it. Set a fixed Box Height when that happens.

## Troubleshooting

### Only one card shows and nothing scrolls

Confirm **Select Layout** is actually set to Carousel on this block, and that the Flip Box repeater has more than one entry — a single-entry repeater has nothing to slide to.

### My arrows or dots aren't visible

Switch on **Show Arrow** or **Show Dots** under Carousel Options — both are off by default.

### The carousel doesn't loop back to the first card

Enable **Infinite Mode** under Carousel Options.
